Ascension Cross Gurranabraher

We are appealing for help to secure and ultimately restore the steeple cross at Church of the Ascension, Gurranabraher, Cork. The cross, which has been in situ since 1962, was damaged by Storm Franklin - the third storm to hit Cork last week. The Cork Fire Brigade has deemed the church grounds unsafe to enter until an engineer has assessed the structure. The people of the community, particularly the older generation, have been very helpful to the church and we now appeal to the community, and the people of Cork to help us raise funds to repair and restore the cross.
