Ascends Annual Holiday Adopt a Family

Hello Ascend Family,
It's holiday season again! It's that time of the year when we start thinking about how we all can help our communities this season and express our gratitude through actions. Due to current events this year our assistance is needed more than ever.
One of the ways we can make a difference is through our annual Adopt a Family Holiday Giving Program.
This week Ascend is officially kicking off our Adopt a Family Program. In the past this tradition has been geared for all of our EI families as we go into their homes and get to know their stories, struggles and needs for the holidays. This year all Ascend departments have been able to connect with families using Telehealth and identify their struggles with basic necessities and needs.
As a result, we are expanding the program to include ALL Ascend staff - EI, Clinic, School, and Pre-school so that we can identify and assist families and bring them holiday cheer.
How it will work this year
The current pandemic will make it difficult to continue in our traditional way of adopting a family by fulfilling a family's wish list and delivering actual goods around the holidays. This year we would like for Ascend staff/therapists and the company to make monetary donations instead. Ascend WILL MATCH 100% of the donations you make. We will use the donations to purchase Walmart gift cards for every family nominated by therapists. The gift cards will allow the families to purchase anything they may need whether it's groceries, clothing, basic necessities or special presents for their family and kids.
1. The first step is for you to complete a form that provides details on the family that you are nominating. You can determine which family could benefit from being nominated based on your interactions with them. Please ensure that you ask the family's permission to share their information for this program so that we can 'adopt them' to send a gift card. 2. We have created a Go Fund Me account to collect the funds this year. You can access the Go Fund Me account at the following link: https://bit.ly/AscendAdoptAFamily
3. Ascend will match 100% of what you donate
4. Donations are due by December, 4th. We will use all the collections to buy Walmart Gift Cards for all the nominated families
5. We will use the information about the family to mail them a holiday card and a gift card in a secured way to assure that it reaches them.
6. We will make sure individual therapists (via email) are updated that your nominated family has been sent the gift card.
Last year, with the help of our Ascend staff, we helped many families! This year, we, once again, encourage you to show our families that they are supported in this challenging year. Lets together help MORE families who we know are in need.
