Most of you know that our beloved Arzu has been battling with back pain that was initially going to require emergency surgery. Thankfully surgery is not completely necessary at the time, so Arzu will be going through therapy and exercise to strenghten her back and delay surgery as much as possible.
This page is to raise funds towards Arzu's medical expenses including therapy and medical pilates.

umarım hepiniz ve aileleriniz iyi ve sağlıklısınız. size bu yıl bitmeden önce sağlık durumumla ilgili bilgi vermek istiyorum. bildiğiniz gibi belimdeki disk yırtığının omurilik kanalı içindeki sinirlere baskı yapması nedeniyle yaklaşık 1 ay kadar yürüyemedim ve bacağım ve özellikle ayağımda bir hissizlik oluştu. doktora gittiğimde bu hissizliğin artacağını ve hemen (hatta o hafta içinde acil olarak) ameliyat olmamı önerdi. başka doktorların da fikrini ve ameliyat olmuş ve olmamış hastaların da deneyimlerini öğrenmek ve alternatif tedavi yolu bulmak için araştırma yaptım. ameliyat olmak istemediğimi Tanrı'ya açıkça söyledim ve birçok kardeş benim için bu konuda dua etti. ikinci bir doktora gitmeden önce 4-5 hafta kadar medikal pilates ve manuel terapi tedavisi gördüm, zorlanarak da olsa bol bol yüzmeye ve çok zorlanarak da olsa mümkün olduğunca yürümeye ve fizik tedavi hareketlerini yapmaya çalıştım. ikinci bir doktoru gördüğümde doktor o andaki durumumum MRI'daki durumdan daha iyi olduğunu sinirdeki baskının biraz azaldığını, yürüyüş, yüzme ve özellikle medikal pilates ve manuel terapiye devam etmemi önerdi. bunlara devam ettiğim sürece ameliyatı ertelemenin mümkün olduğunu söyledi. bu kasım ayında Tanrı'nın bir mucizesi ile Güney kore'den gelen ve ciddi sağlık sorunu olan imanlı kardeşlere hizmet etmek isteyen bir akupunktur uzmanı pastor beni muayene etti. bana 10 seans bedava tedavi vermek istediğini söyledi. ancak maalesef iki kez istanbula gidebildim ve sadece seans tedavi alabildim. yine de belim ve sırtım ve bacağım ve boynumdaki ağrılarda büyük bir azalma oldu. bu pastor güney koreye geri gittiğinden dolayı maalesef tedaviyi tamamlayamadık. ancak o da bana ikinci doktor gibi medikal pilates ve manuel terapiye devam etmemi önerdi. ve son olarak check-up için gittiğim doktor da sinire olan fiziksel baskının azalmasıyla ameliyatı uzun süre ertelemenin mümkün olabileceğini söyledi. şu anda maalesef hala sol ayak topuğumda bir bölge hala tamamen hissiz olsa da, çok şükür bacağımda belimden başlayan ve ayak parmaklarıma giden hissizlik büyük ölçüde iyileşmiş durumda. bütün bu olanların ve bilgilerin ışığında size söylemek istediğim 3 şey var.
1. bu ani ve zor durumda yanımda olup benimle birlikte dua ettiğiniz, iyileşmemi temenni ettiğiniz ve cömert yardımlarınız için çok teşekkür ederim. kendimi çok sevilmiş ve bakılmış ve büyük bir ailenin bir parçası hissettim. rab sizi bu hassas zamanda bana karşı cömertliğiniz ve ilginize göre bol bol daha çok bereketlesin.
2. şu andaki durumu doktorların(sadece hemen ameliyat etmek isteyen değil ama diğer iki doktorun da) ve akupunktur uzmanı pastorün de tavsiyeleri ışığında değerlendirip medikal pilates ve manuel terapiye devam edeceğim. ve ileride (Tanrı korusun) gerekirse ameliyat olmadan önce istanbul'da başka bir doktorun da görüşünü alacağım.
3. şu andaki durumumda bu fonda birikmiş olan parayı medikal pilates ve manuel terapi (ve gerekirse istanbuldaki doktorla ameliyat) için kullanmak istiyorum. Ancak bu yardımı bana acil ameliyat için yapmış olduğunuz sizin bilginiz ve izniniz olmadan bu parayı şu anda tedavi için kullanmak istemedim. bu parayı tedavi için kullanmamı tercih etmezseniz mandy kardeşimiz size bir şekilde geri göndermenin bir yolunu bulabilecek sanırım. Ancak eğer sizin için bir sakıncası yoksa da bu biriken parayı tedavi amaçlı kullanmayı arzu ediyorum. sizden ricam bu konudaki fikrinizi mandy ile paylaşmanız, öyle ki kızkardeşimiz ne yapması gerektiğini bilebilsin. I hope you all and your families are well. I wanted to share with you about my health situation before the end of the year. As you know because of the ruptured disc that created pressure on my nerves in my lower back, I was unable to walk normally for about a month and had numbness in my leg and especially my foot. When I went to the doctor, they informed me that the numbness would increase and that I needed immediate surgery (emergency surgery within that week). I sought out other doctors opinions and the advice of my friends who had similar back problems, as well as researching for alternative treatments. I told the Lord openly that I didn't want surgery and a few brothers and sisters prayed for me. I started doing medical pilates and physical therapy for about 4-5 weeks before seeing a second doctor. Once I met with the second doctor, I was told that according to the MRI taken before, my back was looking better and that the pressure on the nerves had decreased a bit. The doctor recommended that I continue with walking and swimming exercise and specifically the medical pilates and manual therapy and that by doing so I could delay the need for surgery. This November by a miracle of God I was blessed to get a medical examination by an acupuncture expert and do some acupuncture treatments that really helped decrease the pain. Unfortunately I still have numbness in my left foot but thankfully my leg and back has significantly improved. So in light of all of this information I wanted to share three things with you all:
1. Thank you so much for coming along my side in this difficult situation, for being with me in prayer and for your generosity. I really feel that I am a part of a big caring family. May the Lord bless you according to your interest and for your generosity towards me in this critical time.
2. At this time I am going to continue medical pilates and manual therapy according to the second doctor's and acupuncture specialist's suggestions. And in the future, if needed I will meet with another doctor in Istanbul before doing surgery.
3. In the current situation I want to use the raised funds from this campaign for medical pilates and manual therapy (and if needed for the surgery with the doctor in Istanbul). However I didn't want to use this money for therapy without your permission and without you knowing because this campaign was specifically created for the initial purpose of helping me get emergency back surgery. If you prefer me to not use the funds you gave towards therapy, my friend Mandy can find a way to send your money back. But if you don't have any objection I would love to use the funds for the purpose of therapy. Please share with Mandy what you would like to do and she will take care of the funds for me.
