George Spiros Jr Memorial

My husband George fought a long hard battle against cancer - his motto through this journey was always "No White Flags". But on June 19th, George waved a flag of peace and began the next phase of his journey.

Everyone who knew George knew how much he loved hockey, especially his beloved Chicago Blackhawks. When George and I talked about how we could keep his name alive, we decided that the best way to honor him would be to set up a fund to sponsor a child who wants to play hockey but simply can't afford it.

Eventually, I hope to establish a non profit foundation in George's name but that will take some time so setting up this fund is my way of getting the ball rolling. I will be working with a local hockey organization to identify a child to sponsor and the funds raised during this campaign will be used for that purpose and if we're able to keep this going, to pay the fees needed to establish the George Spiros Jr. Memorial Hockey Scholarship as a non profit organization.
