Hi everyone,

My name is Jayanna, and I’ve been living in Houston for almost three years. After working hard and saving up, I was finally able to purchase a 2006 Nissan Murano on March 7th. This car was everything to me—it was my only way to make a living, as I delivered groceries, and it was a step toward my goal of re-enrolling in nursing school full-time.

Unfortunately, on March 27th, everything changed. Just moments after receiving a job offer I had been working so hard for, my car suddenly caught fire while I was driving. Within minutes, the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames. I barely had time to escape, and I lost everything inside—my wallet with all my identification and bank cards, my laptop, clothes, shoes, and most importantly, my means of supporting myself.

I am beyond grateful to be safe, but now I am left without transportation, a job, or even basic essentials. I never imagined I’d be in this situation, and I need help to get back on my feet.
