ARTS GLOBO- EMPOWERING YOUTH THROUGH ART EDUCATION

Jahlil, 8 years old came to us recommended by his teacher as needing one on one attention and integrating art into his life. Being raised with a single mom and 3 other siblings, Jahlil was thrilled to have a Brazil Center teaching artist as his minor, coach and instructor.

Jahlil was one of our first students in the Arts Globo program and showed enthusiasm and high energy from his first day until the end. In comparison to when he started, Jahlil became more comfortable in preparing the software on his own, as well as being able to express himself.

 

Jahlil expressed an interest pursuing audio engineering as a career and continued to share his interests with our teaching artists as the course progressed. Jahlil ended the program by asking one question:

 

“When Can I sign up again?”

 

Because of compassionate people like you, we can continue to meet critical educational needs in our community. For only $5 per day during the month of November, you can provide 6 students living at the poverty level with a tablet.
