WHERE DID THE ORIGINAL $4K COME FROM?
ART RAT FOUNDER ROSE KIM IS 24 YEARS OLD, AND WORKS A FULL-TIME OFFICE JOB. OFF THE CLOCK AND IN BETWEEN RUNNING THE ART RAT VEHICLE, SHE WORKED FOUR MORE JOBS. IT'S NOT A MAGICAL STORY. THERE WAS NO FAIRY GODMOTHER. SHE JUST WORKED HER ASS OFF TO SAVE UP A BUDGET THAT COULD SUPPORT ARTISTS WHILE THEY WORKED.
MILESTONES ACHIEVED WITH THE FIRST $4K:

. Commission a writer to publish our first piece of dramaturgy: bit.ly/walterforartrat
. Travel expenses for our very first tour, to UC DAVIS, NOV 24TH.
. Four shows in December at a warehouse studio space in Anaheim, CA.
