artless Bastard is a fine art gallery located in downtown De Pere, Wisconsin. The gallery showcases & provides a public platform for artists to display their work and sell it. Hosting opening reception's for the artists and the community is the backbone of the gallery.
On March 16th we made the difficult decision to close before any city/state mandates were enforced in order to do our part to flatten the curve. While we have tried to think ahead of this as it unfolds, nothing could have prepared us to close our doors to the public and our community.
We see art as something that provides an outlet for people when they are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, unhappy or just need a quiet place to get away to. Art takes you to a different place, if only for a few minutes and provides a sense of calmness, peace and hope. We are saddened that we can not even provide this when it is needed the most.
We are dedicated, resilient and creative with coming up with ideas to keep selling art and to keep being connected to you but we are also faced with monthly rent and utilities to maintain the space.
We really want to remain standing when the dust has settled and continue to support our artists & our creative community. It is hard to ask for help but we are humbled enough to know when we need to.
