Artists/Musicians Coronavirus Relief Fund

Donation protected
Hi folks. As the COVID-19 pandemic worsens, a whole lot of self-employed/freelance artists and musicians are being hit very hard financially, with venues, theatres, and private clients (understandably) cancelling shows and gigs, and schools starting to shut down, impacting teaching hours as a result. As a result, a lot of these talented and lovely people are running the risk of being unable to pay rent or other bills for at least a few months, possibly longer.

I'd like to try and soften that fiscal blow for them, so here's the deal:

If you are able and willing to contribute, please do so here on this page and share the message with others!

If you are in need of money, fill out the Google form below and I will transfer some to you. Simple, but hopefully effective.

A few notes:
- Although I've set this up with artists/musicians primarily in mind (as that's the industry I'm in and so I can see how it's being hit by the pandemic most clearly), I will happily send money to any freelance/self-employed/zero-hour-contracted worker affected by the situation. It's going to be a bumpy ride for all of us over the next few months.
- The amounts I will be able to pay out will of course be wholly dependent on how much comes in, so unless this becomes the second-biggest viral sensation to take the world by storm this month I will initially be capping payouts at £200, I'll be making them in £50 increments and they will be on a first-come-first-served basis. If you need more then please don't hesitate to say so, and I will do my best to send more if funds allow.
- I will not be taking any of this money - I'm a musician myself but am fortunate to have a solid enough support system that I'm not in as dire straits as many of my coworkers and associates in the arts.
- For now I'll be focusing on those in the UK as that's where I'm based, but I'd like to extend it to folks elsewhere in Europe and in the USA down the line if possible - so if you know anybody in these areas who could contribute or who might need the money, please do share this fundraiser around.
- If the situation improves, everyone's back on firm ground and we find ourselves with money left in the pot, I'll be donating the remainder to charity - feel free to reach out and suggest any that you think could do with the extra cash.
- If you're not sure if you're able to contribute to this, please don't feel obligated to (although do consider sharing it around on social media and the like)! I know a lot of you are able to work from home and still make money while all this is going on but if that isn't the case for you, please do keep your own wellbeing in mind as well - I'd imagine the next few months are going to get worse for all of us before they get better.
- If you have any suggestions for streamlining or improving this idea - please let me know! Anything that helps is always appreciated <3

Thanks everyone! I hope this helps some folks out in a very trying time - I'll post updates as we go along so you can all have some idea of how we're doing.
