Artists camera broken while protesting for BLM
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Sierra Frost! I am nineteen years old and am a rising senior at the University of Iowa, studying art and political science. As a biracial black woman, I felt like it was my duty after the death of George Floyd and countless others to go and protest against police brutality. And as an artist, I feel like my voice is in the art I create. I brought my camera to Minneapolis, where I attended a very peaceful protest. During this protest, my camera was broken. I am not sure how, but before the protest, my camera was working fine. Because of this, I was not able to capture the images I wanted to capture. I created this gofundme in order to buy another used camera so I can capture images of the protests that I continue to go to. It is important in these times that there is documentation of these events, especially by black artists like myself. It would mean the world to me if you donated, and thank you all so much for those who donate.
