My name is Lori Newton. I am the founder of Artist Connection Theatre in Jacksonville, Florida. I have five children, and four of them are heavily involved in the arts. Through the years, I have found that developing their talents is an expensive investment - piano lessons, vocal lessons, dance classes, etc.
In 2012 the dream to start a community theatre began. This dream includes a place that gives anyone an opportunity to inexpensively develop talents and gifts. As the years passed, the dream grew stronger and stronger. Finally, in January of 2017, I began the process of incorporation and became a non-profit organization (501c3). I envision that one-day, as the theatre grows, there will be after school programs, summer camps, and art classes for people of all ages to grow in the arts no matter their economic status, and productions for performers and audiences to enjoy. We have a deep desire for people to have an outlet to express them selves creatively.
We would love for YOU to get involved! Your monetary donations will go toward our first production to get the theatre started.
Our goal is to raise $3,000 for the cost of renting facility, costumes, props, sets, etc. We would like to raise our goal by November 1, 2017 in anticipation of a December 2017 performance.
