Please help Maryann and Arthur Smith
This fundraiser is to help my mother and father and the onslaught of bills that they will now face.
Last fall, my mother Maryann Smith (68) got hurt at work and broke her hip. She spent months out of work and only recently returned to her part-time job. She is being billed for a number of items not covered by insurance and my parents have fallen behind on bills because of the the lack of cash flow.
To make matters worse, my father- Arthur Smith (74) just suffered a heart attack and is having triple bypass surgery Monday, June 4th.
This has been a very difficult year for them and my parents depend heavily on my father's income to survive.
I was watching my fathers face yesterday when the doctor told him that he couldn't return to work for six weeks. He went pale with worry, his first words "the bills" and my father is 74, he shouldn't even have to work but he must.
We are anticipating a number of bills related to his multiple hospital transfers, the surgery and medication. But what is worse is that they will lose their primary source of income for at least 6 weeks.
I know my father has helped many people in Putnam Valley and the surrounding area. Artie Smith is a well-known old school member of the PV community.
Please consider donating something to help defray the financial impact my parents will suffer so they can both focus on recovering. It would mean the world to me and my family to know that there is something to help meet those bills and that others care about their welfare.
