Book of the Dead, Art Song Fund

This fall, the American composer, Robert Strobel ( https://bobontheluge.wixsite.com/robert-strobel https://soundcloud.com/robert-strobel-314752650/sets/on-the-life-of-roses) and Canadian lyricist and poet Barbara Black ( https://www.barbarablack.ca) are undertaking an art song cycle based on The Egyptian Book of the Dead, also known as The Book of Going Forth by Day. This work will be scored for baritone voice and piano to be performed and recorded by American baritone Harrison Hintzsche ( https://harrisonhintzsche.com https://soundcloud.com/harrisonhintz/lharmonie-du-soir-claude). Supporting this project will create relevant new art music for the recital hall and will ensure that the collaborating composer and lyricist can create an excellent and engaging piece for a contemporary audience and be supported in the process. We are inviting interested donors to help fund the project and bring it to completion.
