Help Art Rebuild
On night one of Hurricane Harvey, my brother Art's house in Friendswood, TX was hit hard. Within a few hours the flood waters were waist deep in his house. By 7am, when he and his roommate left for the shelter, water in the street was at chest height. They walked / swam out of his neighborhood with only a few rubbermaid containers of essentials. Most of his possessions will likely be unsalvagable, including his car and the house will need to be gutted.
Art has homeowners and flood insurance and has already filed a claim with FEMA but it will take time for him to work these processes. The money raised through this account will cover costs for essentials and supplies to begin the clean up in the meantime. His immediate needs are a rental car, storage unit rental, cleanout supplies/services and other basic living necessities (clothes, shoes, etc). Anything left over after that will be put towards rebuidling costs. The plan, for now, is for Art to live with my husband and I (at least until we drive each other crazy!!) so apartment rental isn't a necessity for now.
We appreciate anything you can give to help Art recover from this horrific event. He has always been so kind and generous to others, it will be great to help him out in his time of need.
