Art Mile Fundraiser for Arts Education in Detroit

In recognition of art's capacity for social change, Art Mile has launched a fundraising campaign for three local non-profit organizations dedicated to providing Detroit youth with access to visual, performing and literary arts education: 482Forward, Inside Out Detroit and Living Arts.
These organizations recognize our communities' collective responsibility to provide and secure high quality education for all. They use the arts as a strategic tool to ignite creativity, empower the voices of Detroit’s youth, and drive the city toward social justice.
Art Mile is a citywide digital art exhibition that champions Detroit's vibrant and diverse arts community. From July 29–August 5, the platform will present a week of programs alongside over 55 local art spaces, featuring digital exhibitions, artwork sales, empty museum tours, and live events such as panel discussions, artist studio visits, film screenings and musical performances.

ABOUT INSIDE OUT DETROIT
Founded in 1995 by former Detroit Public School teacher Dr. Terry Blackhawk, InsideOut Literary Arts has reached over 62,000 students in more than 100 elementary, middle and high school classrooms in Detroit, Oak Park, Dearborn, and River Rouge. Committed to inspiring youth to think broadly, create bravely and share their voices with the wider world, InsideOut’s programming connects Detroit area youth to their own resilience through creative writing and poetry, while improving student reading and writing skills. Living Arts ignites creativity in the lives of Detroit youth through the performing, visual, and media arts.
