Art Makes Masks

Founded by Art Directors, Lisa Mastroianni and Justin Cox, Art Makes Masks is a collective of art department professionals from the Film, TV and Theatre industries who are pooling our resources to help address the shortage of PPE for healthcare workers during the Covid19 crisis.

We thank you for joining this effort and ask you to share this information widely. The more energy and materials we can harness, the faster we can deliver masks to those on the frontlines.

While hospitals are the largest institutions that are facing a shortage of PPE, there are many smaller clinics and care homes treating LGBTQ+ patients who are even less prepared for this pandemic; we are committed to including them as donation recipients.

After due diligence, we have chosen our particular mask pattern because it is being worn by itself and to prolong the use of an N95 mask as a cover. Due to the limited supply of materials, we appreciate you volunteering your own reserves if you have them. As this effort gathers momentum, we expect that monetary and material donations will increase to allow fabrication to ramp up & be further streamlined.
