Hi Everyone,
My friend and I are trying to host an art show in Bushwick, but we're low on funds. We wanted to take the steps in addressing issues that affect POC, but disproportionately black people, so the theme is housing inequality and gentrification. The show will include pieces created by Black and POC low-income artists from Bushwick. This will be taking place at a park, but we need help getting a special events permit and a sound permit. We also wanted to provide food for those that partake.
Donations made at the event will go directly to the artist, the event coordinators, funding for our next event, and 40% will go to BAN (Brooklyn Anti-Gentrification Network). This is an organization actively combating gentrification through efforts like fighting for stabilizing rent and ending "income segregation housing development" (BAN)
