Arna's Heart Surgery

WE NEED YOUR HELP so we can get Arna the heart surgery she desperately needs.
At just three weeks of age Arna and her sister Elsa were found inside a sealed cardboard box amongst dumped rubbish. They were dehydrated, emaciated, anemic and required around the clock care. As they revealed their sweet but cheeky and outgoing nature, and being inseparable, we named them after the famous sisters from Disney's Frozen.
As they grew we noticed Arna had trouble keeping down solid food. At eight weeks of age she underwent a contrast study and was diagnosed with a persistent right aortic arch. This is a very rare congenital abnormality of a blood vessel in the heart which wraps around the oesophagus (the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach). The abnormal blood vessel puts pressure on the oesophagus preventing the normal passage of food into the stomach causing regurgitation. It doesn’t cause a problem to the heart itself, but the constriction of the oesophagus means the animal very can not receive adequate nutrition. There is a surgery that can clip the vessel however it is a difficult surgery and needs to be performed by a specialist surgeon. Dr Sarah Goldsmid and the Animal Referral Hospital have offered Little Paws Orphan Rescue a significant discount to perform Arna's CT, surgery and post op care. She is booked for her CT scan 30th May to plan her surgery. We are asking for support from our followers to help raise the funds we need to proceed with surgery.
