Army family needs August rent

We have become aware of a warrior family in need, and ask for your support.  We have changed the names to preserve their privacy.

Scott and Beverly have been married for 5 years and have a 2 year old son.  They met in High School and instantly fell in love.  Scott joined the Army Reserve’s Transportation Unit in Concord 5 ½ years ago in hopes of making a better life for his family.

Last September, Scott was laid off from his job at the Elections Department in Santa Clara County and has been looking for a good paying job ever since then.  He went on unemployment and that benefit recently ran out.   Currently, Scott is driving for Uber and is receiving some financial assistance from Cal-Works.  The combination of these funds are barely enough to pay their rent of $1625.00 in a low-income apartment building in San Jose and other necessities, but they make do. 

Currently, Scott is at Annual Training at Ft. McCoy in Wisconsin for 28 days.  Since he reported to Cal-Works that he would be at Annual Training, they denied his family financial assistance for the month of August.  Scott and Beverly were able to pay a portion of their August rent and another 501(c)(3) organization has helped out too.  But on the 9th, his wife received a 3 day eviction notice for the balance of rent due in the amount of $625.  The onsite manager knows about this situation and he is trying to help the family as much as he can. 

Scott is working hard to better his working situation and has his final interview with the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Office on Sept 5th . Beverly has asked for your prayers that her husband is hired by the Sheriff’s Department on that day.
