Arlington Children's Theatre Needs Your Help!

Tax deductible
To the Young Artists, Friends, and Families of ACT:

I won't mince words -- ACT needs your support.

As many of you may already know, we have had to cancel all remaining performances of our winter production of Seussical, the largest show in our season. As a not-for-profit organization, we depend on show revenues to support theater programming for our young people throughout the year. We estimate that the show closure has resulted in a $20,000 loss in expected funding.

At this time, we are asking you to please consider making a donation to Arlington Children's Theatre in order to ensure that our organization remains viable. A small donation, such as the price of a show ticket, or a larger donation from families who have the means to do so, would be greatly appreciated. Together, we can ensure that ACT is able to achieve its mission to provide exceptional youth theater programming for years to come.

It is my sincere hope that, through these days of uncertainty and fear, we can all rally together as a community in support of one another, and especially of our young people. Theatre is about communion - people coming together to share and experience something unique and fleeting. We use story to help us understand a strange, confusing, joyous, and sometimes scary world. And this universal experience is uniquely human -- this measure of intelligence alone is what separates us from other species; it is what makes us who we are.

At a time when we are encouraged to disconnect and distance for our very well-being, it becomes even more important to lift up and support the great human need to connect and share stories. I have witnessed firsthand the power of storytelling to affect great change across communities. I hope you will join me in ensuring that the future of ACT and of theatre education in our community remains vibrant and bright.

Thank you for supporting theatre education and the young artists at the heart of Arlington Children's Theatre.
