Ariel's Team Canada Denmark Dream

Donation protected
I first discovered SUP in 2008 in Hawaii after a life changing year travelling abroad with my hubby Steve. Fast forward 9 years, life continues to be an adventure with this incredible chance to compete for Team Canada in Cold Hawaii, Denmark at the ISA World Championships.

Anyone who knows me, knows about my passion for all things SUP. I have raced SUP as a Blu Wave Team Rider for 5 years, I teach SUP as a Head Coach for the Blu Wave SUP Academy, and for the Barrie Canoe & Kayak Club. I run a Paddle4theCure fundraiser and am stoked to have my 2 year old son Kai already onboard with me.

I am proud to have won the WOMANS OVERALL SUP SERIES CHAMPION title in 2014 & the ELITE CHAMPION title in 2016, 2014 & 2013. I have also competed in SUP Surfing at the TOFINO PADDLE & SURF CHAMPIONSHIPS in 2016 & under ESA, winning the WEST SHORE LAKE HURON FRESH WATER CLASSIC allowing me to compete at the NORTHEAST REGIONAL SURFING CHAMPIONSHIPS in 2014.

Despite my competitive nature, I am most proud of the work I have done in the SUP community around Barrie, Ontario. In 2015 I organized the First Annual BLUWAVE PADDLE 4 THE CURE raising over $15,000 & over $25,000 in 2016. I have paddled SUP4MS for 6 years and coach at Aloha Toronto for 4, an incredible initiative for children with Autism.

2017 brings my biggest challenge yet with a spot to compete withTeam Canada at the ISA World SUP & Paddleboard Championship Sept 1st to 10th in Denmark.

I have just 6 weeks to train and plan for this once in a lifetime opportunity, a challenge almost unimaginable as a new mom, yet a dream I WILL fulfill.

It will require a lot of time and resources just to get me there in addition to the all of the costs, registration, flights, hotels etc that we are individually responsible for. I will rely on my family and friends for support with my son while I am competing internationally as a PROUD CANADIAN.

I graciously request your support, assistance, love and encouragement to help me reach my dreams. Together we can teach the next generation of paddlers that we truly can accomplish anything when we put our whole heart into it.

I am very grateful for everything and everyone in my life and especially to you for taking the time to read my story, for helping to share the stoke with others and for any assistance you might offer.

Sincerely,
Ariel Amaral
