Eric and Amy Jackson are without a doubt two of the most genuine, caring and compassionate people you'll ever meet. Their entire lives they've shown unwavering kindness to everyone around them, and I know I can speak for all their family and countless friends when I say that we are all grateful to have them in our lives.
But their true character is most evident in the unconditional love they show every day as parents. Two years ago they welcomed beautiful baby Brynn into this world, and this past fall were excited to announce the impending arrival of the newest Jackson.
As parents, it would have been easy to become discouraged and immediately think the worst when given news that the baby was developing with pronounced Spina Bifida and may never walk. Instead, with remarkable strength and optimism, together they demonstrated once again what makes them so special.
Ari Benjamin Jackson was born February 16, 2015. He stands 1'3" tall and weighs in at 2 lbs 7 ounces. Having made it through an in utero operation and premature birth to the point of impressing the entire medical team, Ari has already defied expectations. And with truly amazing parents and the love and support of friends and family, there is no doubt he will continue to do so.
The money we raise here is not nearly as important to Eric and Amy as the countless thoughts and prayers of family and friends. Rather, it is simply a chance for us all to provide some additional support.
And although Eric and Amy's insurance will cover much of the financial burden, there will be significant medical costs for them as Ari continues to gain strength. In addition, Amy will continue to stay in Cincinnati at the Ronald McDonald House until both she and Ari are strong enough to come home. Unsurprisingly, while there is no payment obligation, Eric and Amy continue to make weekly donations to the charity.
