Aria's Study Abroad Fellowship

Hello, friends and family. I have exciting news that I have applied, interviewed, and got accepted to a study abroad fellowship in Pontavedra, Spain, through the Atlantis Project, from July 28th to August 24th! It is an amazing opportunity where I will be able to do at least 20 hours a week, for four weeks, of clinical shadowing at the hospital, Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Pontevedra. This is an accredited teaching hospital that covers all aspects of medicine including but not limited to primary care, emergency, internal medicine, surgery, and pediatrics. As you know, my dream is to be a surgeon, and I have a fascination with emergency medicine, as well, so I thought this hospital was a great fit for me!

I am so blessed to have been accepted into this prestigious program, and to have the chance to experience the culture and the way they practice medicine. I am hoping this will be a big leg-up for me when I begin applying to medical schools next summer/fall by having this shadowing experience, open-mindedness, and cultural sensitivity.

I would be so grateful for any contribution to this opportunity, as it is pricey, but I am also saving and applying for scholarships through my school, too.  This campaign is going towards the tuition that covers my housing, meals, transportation, excursions, travel and liability insurance, as well as my flight costs.
