Arcadian Gardens Surgery Allotment

My name is Dr Zohra Karim and I need your help!

I'm a GP from Haringey in North London. At Arcadian Gardens Surgery we have almost 6500 patients, with a large population of patients with diabetes, cardiovascular, and mental health problems.

I started to help patients get better through gardening on an allotment. It’s a holistic approach to the treatment of physical health and mental health. Most of our patients were very great enthusiastic when I first suggested the idea and have very much enjoyed working on the allotment to improve their health.

There are no other dedicated green spaces in Haringey for patients. This green space became even more important to patients during the pandemic. We want to keep this brilliant endeavour going, because having a green space is helping our patients mental and physical health so much.

Having already put in thousands of pounds of my own money to get this up and running, I need help to continue.
