<div>One year ago, Lindsay and Jenna left their jobs as teachers and founded Arboro Empowered. They knew that there were better ways for families to be supported locally. Using their knowledge of child development, their personal experiences as parents of young kids, and their passion for finding the possibility within difficult situations, Arboro was born.

<div>Their mission is to provide families with resources and experiences designed to empower both children and their parents. The reception has been overwhelming. One year in, and every week parents are participating in support groups led by child psychologists, parenting experts, and wellness experiences. Students are learning Spanish through play, discovering new concepts through hands-on science experiments, developing a love of learning through book clubs and math fact games, testing theories through engineering challenges, all while building confidence and grit. Coaches who encourage and teach the art of effective communication and collaboration help children develop skills that will last a lifetime.

<div>While children engage in these experiences, parents get to take care of their own needs. For some, that is answering emails or taking a virtual meeting in the Grown-Up Grove Lounge. For others, it means reading a book in the serene, nature-filled backyard. Others prefer trying an exercise class, chatting with a fellow caregiver, or going for a walk.
