Araceli's Breast Cancer Treatment

Hello friends and family,
I wanted to give ya’ll an update since my last post. From when my results came in, more testing was done, and I now know that I specifically have what is called Triple Negative Breast Cancer and it’s as mean as it sounds. On October 31st, I had a partial mastectomy, which removed the tumor measuring 2.2 x 2 x 1.8 cm and 21 lymph nodes. Of the 21 lymph nodes, 3 had the cancer already. However scary it may sound, this still keeps me at a stage 2 and thankfully my recovery from surgery has been without any complications. Chemotherapy is next for me. 5 to 7 months of chemo starting as early as mid-December.
Since I didn’t have health insurance when all this started, I got treated in my hometown of Monterrey, Mexico. In Monterrey, I’ve been fortunate enough to find a program that will assist with the costs of chemotherapy. However, my surgery, doctor visits, medication, travel, food, and more have taken a huge toll on my emergency funds. My situation is tough, the timing of it all, with the pandemic, being furloughed, and my unemployment assistance ending, it's making it even tougher. With so many uncertainties in my near future, I can’t help but to reach out for help.
I am fearlessly accepting whatever may come in the next few months, because I feel strengthen by all the support and prayers I have been receiving. A big Thank You to all of you from the bottom of my heart. A little goes a long way, please share with anyone that you think can help too.

Hello everyone,
My name is Araceli Valencia. I am 35 years old and I have stage 2 breast cancer. Late August I felt a lump in my right breast. I tried to come up with every and any excuse, but the uncertainty was just too much. On October 12, 2020 I went in for a mammogram and ultrasound, after which, I was told I had mass measuring 2.4 x 2.3 x 1.2 cm and was classified a BIRAD 5 requiring a biopsy. The shock and fear I felt was indescribable, but my doctor said I had no time to waste and told me to take action immediately. I had my biopsy by the end of the week and my results confirmed Infiltrating Ductal Adenocarcinoma.
We all know 2020 has been a tough year. Personally, I was furloughed from my job and I currently do not have health insurance that will cover the costs associated with my surgery. I feel very grateful to have a strong family unit and for all the wonderful people in my life that have been so supportive. I am also lucky to have been detected early. Unfortunately, I am not in the ideal financial position to absorb all of the mounting costs that have come up and will continue to pile up during this very difficult time in my life.
I would have never thought that I would be in this situation as I have always tried to be a very independent and private person, but I find myself in a time of need and would greatly appreciate any donation and many prayers. When I received my diagnosis I first felt as if my wings had been cut, I felt struck down, but now as I’ve shared what’s happening to me the blessings and prayers from people like you give me the strength to overcome.
