Arabesque Needs Your Help, Again
Donation protected
Almost unbelievably, our studio has once again been shut-down by our governor for Covid-19 concerns. While Arabesque is unfairly lumped together with “group fitness classes” regardless of our masks, sanitation & distancing in our huge space, the reality is one cannot simply judge a partnered dance with a solo art (such as belly dance) versus a yoga, versus aerobics… all so different.
I understand the why of it – now we need to be safe at home too.
Not sure if we’ll be allowed to open again this year, as we are told this is until further notice & the holiday season is upon us. Can you spare or share?
Being Chicago's biggest & longest running belly dance studio, Arabesque is such a tiny niche business, relying on in-person classes & performances - making us hit especially hard by the social distancing that comes with Covid-19. Shifting to online is not so easily done as said, it is however a goal for this shut-down.
We have been a refuge for so many people who never considered themselves dancers (since 2004) quickly becoming a second home for so many.
Your donation helps us keep the rent & utilities paid during this NEW uncertain time, so we may continue to be there for everyone once this tragedy is behind us.
