Hi,
My name is Nechama Dukes and since September I have been the dorm mother of the American girls program in Or Chaya Seminary.
As many of you know, we unfortunately dealt with a horrific fire in the girls dorm the day before Chanukkah. It was a shock to all of us and we have worked hard to help the girls recover mentally and emotionally from such an experience. As challenging and difficult as the event was for all who were involved we witnessed open miracles that day. Neighbors, police officers, our maintenance man and an Arab worker who had been working on the construction of the building for over a year, all jumped in to save the girls from the fire. We owe them the biggest gratitude and thanks for their heroic actions which Baruch Hashem saved our girls.
All of these heroes received awards at our Seudas Hodaa where we publicly thanked them and Hashem for the incredible miracles that occurred that day.
It was at that event that I spoke with and thanked the Arab worker who saved so many of our girls. He had been in the hospital for longer than anyone else in the fire. I asked how he was feeling physically since he had been in the hospital for so long. He and his brother who was there explained that up until now he had no follow up treatment due to debt he was in to his insurance company. I was saddened to hear that after all he had done for us he had not received the medical care he needed. I have therefore offered to help raise the funds to cover his debt so he can get the care he needs and deserves. What he gave to us is unquantifiable and we now have the opportunity to help him in his time of need just like he helped us in ours.
Please help me to raise the funds to get his medical debt covered so he may get the care he needs and deserves.
His debt is ₪26,327 shekel which comes to $7,400. I will be paying the insurance company directly over the phone once the funds are raised and have verified with the insurance company that what they have told me is in fact true.
Please help us give back to this brave man who risked his life to help our girls. Thank you and Tizku L'Mitzvot!
