<div>Monday, 8/5, my mom Cyndi experienced an unimaginable tragedy as her house completely burned down after being struck by lightning. She lost everything in an instant —her belongings, although very modest and few, cherished memories, and the small place she called home.

<div>We are incredibly grateful that she is safe, but she now faces the daunting task of rebuilding her life from scratch at the age of 70.

<div>We are reaching out to our community for support- though it’s something I never imagined needing to do. My mom has lived an incredibly modest and humble lifestyle for more than 20 years, being able to fit almost everything she owns in the back of her little sedan as she’s moved from place to place, having adventure after adventure. She still works from home part-time as a medical transcriptionist to supplement her small Social Security income.
