Hello friends! I hope you enjoying these wonderful summer days! It's important to find rest and to take the time to slowwww downnn just a little bit during months like this. Well at least that's what I've been telling myself. There's finally time to read that book that's been sitting on the bedside table, or try out that recipe that you've meaning to cook. You can sit by the pool, enjoy a popsicle, but don't you dare think about August. August is when life starts again. Thinking about August might ruin today.
I've been procrasitnating way too long and it's time to start thinking about August, especially considering it's only a month away. (If you are still reading, THANK YOU. You are gracious and brave and hopefully interested in why I made this gofundme page. Thank you thank you. Keep reading.) Come August 4th, I will start intern training for the campus ministry that I have committed myself to until May 2015. The Wesley Foundation is a campus ministry that completely transformed my life in 10,000 ways during my time at UGA. It is a wonderful Jesus-seeking, Spirit-filled place that has been such a blessing. Seriously. I love love love Wesley. The friends I've made at Wesley during my four years as an undergrad aren't so bad either. I'll be interning with Freshley, the freshman ministry that ministers to 700 or so freshman. Freshley is the bomb and I have stories, so feel free to ask. I'll also be discipling 6 to 7 girls and hopefully Jesus will guide me because people are fragile and beautiful and I can't do that on my own.
The truth is I'm actually beyond excited for August. It is going to be hard work and long hours, but so much fun. The part I'm nervous about is the supporting myself part. Wesley is not a paid internship, and that's why i need your help. I am looking to build a support team both financially and in prayer. I am stubborn and hate to ask for money, but it's part of the deal, and I know the Lord is faithful. I looked at my budget, and factored in taxes, rent and utilities, and tithing of my own, as well as the other necessities and I'm hoping to raise $13,000 for the year! PLEASE HELP. Whether it's a one time donation or if you so desire to support me anywhere from $50-$200 monthly, I would be beyond grateful. This is difficult and humbling, but again, I know my God is a faithful provider.
I don't have anything to offer, but the occasional update or letter or cookie. But know that I will make an effort to individually pray for my supporters, and I will be so so so grateful for each of you.
