Hunter's Journey

Hunter was born on March 27, 2017.
At birth, Hunter was jaundiced (as a lot of babies are) and his parents were told to put him in sunlight and keep an eye on him.
At about 9.5 weeks, Michele (his mother) noticed that he was appearing yellow and his poop did not look right; she took him to an urgent care.
Michele was told he was fine and this was “normal”. Trusting her motherly instincts, she took him back to his pediatrician that week, again she was told that it was normal.
THANKFULLY, she did not listed and after 3 more days took him to the ER at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital, and Hunter was immediately admitted.
Hunter was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia.
Biliary atresia is a rare life-threatening condition in infants in which the bile ducts inside or outside the liver do not have normal openings.
Bile ducts in the liver, also called hepatic ducts, are tubes that carry bile from the liver to the gallbladder for storage and to the small intestine for use in digestion. Bile is a fluid made by the liver that serves two main functions: carrying toxins and waste products out of the body and helping the body digest fats and absorb the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K.
Hunter has already had one surgery where they removed his gallbladder, did the Kasai procedure to fix the bile duct issue, which used a section of his small intestine to create a duct, they also straightened his intestines and removed his appendix.
Unfortunately, there is more. After being discharged and home for 2 days, Hunter was sent back to the hospital, and now they have discovered several issues along with the failed Kasai procedure, he has some vascular issues that will be addressed and he will be transferred to Miami for a liver transplant.
Most of all, Hunter and his family need your prayers!
The family believes that God is the ultimate healer, and have faith that God is bigger!
I have set up a go fund me to assist the family.
Right now, Hunter and his mom are living in the hospital.
Hunter’s dad is working and trying to visit the hospital as much as he can.
Hunter has a big sister, who is spending lots of time with family members who are trying to keep her busy.
This money will be used to help with medical bills, transportation costs, food (since they are not home to cook), and everyday living costs.
NO amount is too small.
