We're here in the UK, Nottingham and as of Easter Sunday we have been given 3 months to move out and find a new home, which can be very difficult. :( There are 4 of us and 6 cats and whilst 2 of us work full time, there's no way we can quickly build up enough money to get us into a new rented property.
Those of you who know me, know I really dislike handouts and you can be sure anything more than what we would need will go as an appropriate thanks to KP, as well as other suitable charities (if we get that far). In any case you can be absolutely certain that our family will really appreciate each and every donation, to the fullest extent.
Where will your donations go?
I am asking for donations to help towards paying a deposit, rent or even several months rent in advance so that we can better secure our chances against credit checks or anti-pet properties. Housing has always been a real issue for myself as it has constantly seemed impossible to keep a property even though we have never missed rent, or caused any reason for eviction - we only have to leave now as our landlord needs to sell the property.
The lower limit of most deposits is £500-700, this is also the average monthly rent, which is usually expected in advance. Some agencies can have fees anywhere up to £150 non-refundable to even apply for a property, we will of course avoid these if we can! Some landlords will expect £50-150 for a pet deposit, my partner of 5 years adores her animals, we have 10 cats right now and are already working on re-homing 4. This has already been an upsetting realisation for us.
How can we thank you?
All I can say is thank you, for your generosity. Not a penny will be wasted and every penny will help. As a family we would be extremely appreciative and would love to write to you and say thank you again.
There are 2 people here who love to write to their pen-pals already and would only be more excited for more who are interested in recieving letters and pictures of cats.
