Appalachian Trail Yo-yo FKT

Hi, my name is Sean Beyard and I live in Telluride, Colorado.
As most of you know, I thru hiked Panama, on the Trans Panama Trail with one of my best friends, David Byers, last summer. We took 14 weeks to hike approximately 700 miles, the length of the country, from Columbia to Costa Rica.
Coming off the trail, I felt as if I had found a home on the trail. This experience, combined with my already strong love for the outdoors, inspired me to dream even bigger.
With that in mind, I decided to hike the Appalachian Trail, nearly 2,200 miles from Georgia to Maine. I not only want to hike it once, but twice. Starting in Georgia, hiking to Maine, and back to Georgia on a self-supported trip. I will supply all of my own provisions from the start of the trip until the end and I will not get in a car while I am still attempting the hike.
I plan to set the FKT, or the fastest known time. My plan is to finish in 5 months or less. Less is ideal.
Quite a few people have asked, ‘WHY?!’ I ask ‘WHY NOT!?’ So many adventures in life go unrealized out of practicality. I’ve decided to make one of my most exciting ideas a reality this year.
No more excuses for adventures not had. My life will be a dream. My dream.
With your help I can AND WILL add another ‘once in a lifetime’ adventure to my dream life and hopefully inspire others to do the same. The only things holding us back are our own limiting thoughts. I say to hell with those forever and encourage you to do the same.
By funding me you are funding food for my resupplies that I will hike to pick up at post offices close to the trail. Your support also covers lodging, laundry and any unexpected gear upgrades I’ll need along the way.
