Appalachian Trail Hike for Recovery

Brett and Adrian are planning the adventure of a lifetime! They will be hiking the Appalachian Trail! The Appalachian Trail is approximately 2150 miles long starting at Springer Mountain in north Georgia and ending at Mount Khatadin in Maine. They plan to begin their hike in March 2018 and will complete it around July or August of 2018.
Brett and Adrian met as clients at Owensboro Regional Recovery, a men's residential substance abuse recovery program in Owensboro, KY. While there, they both discovered a love for hiking and the outdoors. Brett is an avid hiker with much trail experience. He wants to hike the Appalachian Trail to show his daughter that he can do anything. Adrian is a veteran who served in Iraq. He wants to hike the trail to show other veterans that they can do it and to learn about himself. Both men say they expect this hike to be a life changing spiritual experience.
The goal of this campaign is to raise enough funds to cover their expenses for this trip. They will need to purchase equipment and pay for lodging along the way. They will also need to cover regular living expenses such as laundry, food, cell phone, etc... In addition, they will not be able to work their regular jobs while they are on the hike. If there are additional funds raised over and above their expenses for the trip, these funds will be used to support Owensboro Regional Recovery. Making a donation of a penny per mile is only $21.50! A nickel per mile is only $107.50, a dime a mile is only $215, a quarter a mile is only $537.50... All donations are tax deductible.
