Mi nombre es Katia Cruz soy de Reynosa Tamaulipas, hago este gofundme para mi bebe Mateo Alejandro Que nació el 21 de abril del año en curso en el hospital Santander con los siguientes padecimientos congénitos: espina bífida (mielomeningocele) e hidrocefalia, fue intervenido 3 veces y es portador de la válvula DVP, pero requiere de otra operación que debe realizar un neurocirujano pediatra, lamentablemente en Reynosa no contamos con esta especialidad y tenia que ser trasladado a la ciudad de Monterrey Nuevo León con uno de los mejores neurocirujano Pediatra el Dr Jose Arenas, Mateo fue trasladado en ambulancia de urgencia el día viernes 23 de mayo de Reynosa al hospital Mugerza de alta especialidad donde lo recibieron todo el equipo del Dr Jose Arenas, en el cual diagnóstico que debería ser intervenido por una neuroendoscopia cerebral donde fue detectado una infección ventricular, por lo que se le realizó una ventriculostomia (es un procedimiento médico que consiste en colocar un catéter dentro de los ventrículos cerebrales para drenar el líquido cefalorraquídeo, este procedimiento se utilizar para tratar la hidrocefalia, una condición donde hay un exceso de líquido cefalorraquídeo en el cerebro, lo que causa presión y daño.) en el cual una vez que se encuentra estable y libre de infección, requiere ser nuevamente intervenido para colocar una nueva válvula DVP.

<div>Hi everyone, my name is Katia Cruz ,I am from Reynosa Tamaulipas . I did this GoFundMe for my son who was born on April 21 , 2025 at Santander hospital with the following conditions :  Spina bifida (myelomeningocele) and hydrocephalus.

<div>My son underwent surgery 3 times and has a DVP Valve, also my son had needed another surgery which a pediatric neurosurgeon needed to perform.  Unfortunately, Reynosa didn't have a pediatric neurosurgeon available, therefore my son had to be transferred  to Monterrey Nuevo Leon where there is  one of the best pediatric neurosurgeon at Mugerza hospital, on May 23 . Dr Jose arenas along his team diagnosis my son had to be surgery by a cerebral neuroscopy which they detected that my son had a ventricular infection so a ventriculostomy which consists of placing a catheter inside the brain's ventricles in order to drain cerebrospinal fluid, was performed. This Medical procedure is performed to treat the hydrocephalus which is a condition where there is an excess of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain which causes pressure and damage. By the time my son is stable and free of infection , he will need to be surgery again in order to place a new DVP Valve. I share this delicate situation that we are going through . That being said ,Your support would be greatly appreciated  since not all medical procedures are being covered by the insurance and we will be affording unexpected expensive charges.
