Il progetto di turismo comunitario ROMPIENDO FRONTERAS del Barrio Egipto (Bogotà), principale dinamica di sostentamento delle 200 famiglie che abitano la Calle 10 della favela di Egipto Alto, è stato profondamente colpito dalla crisi dovuta al COVID19. Si raccolgono fondi per coprire le necessità basiche della comunità. L'intero importo raccolto sarà ricevuta dai leader del progetto Andres Saavedra e Jaime Roncancio e sarà utilizzato per distribuire cibo e altri tipi di necessità basiche per le famiglie.  BARRIO EGIPTO ALTO è un barrio de invasión (favela) situato nelle periferie orientali di Bogotá. La storia del quartiere è stata segnata dalla violenza e dalla miseria. Da 4 anni è stato organizzato autonomamente un progetto di turismo comunitario per far conoscere il quartiere ai visitatori della città. Il progetto ha consentito di migliorare le condizioni di vita di decine di famiglie, assicurare una maggiore sicurezza e garantire piccole possibilità lavorative e di espressione artistica. Il progetto si basa su tour del quartiere offerto dagli abitanti stessi, in cui si raccontano storie e memorie di violenza e rinascita attraverso una lunga serie di murales. 


La situazione attuale ha totalmente bloccato l'iniziativa. In attesa di una ripresa del turismo internazionale che appare ancora lontana, è necessario aiutare queste persone nelle loro necessità basiche: cibo, bollette, costituzione di rete elettrica, spese per i bambini.
