<div>Mi nombre es Sara, nací el 17 de diciembre de 2004 y desde que tenía un mes de vida me diagnosticaron síndrome de Alagille, una enfermedad que afecta los conductos hepáticos. A los dos meses me hicieron una derivación del intestino a la vía biliar y me quitaron la vesícula, pero la enfermedad continuó destruyendo mi hígado. A los 12 meses me hicieron un trasplante de hígado de donante vivo, y los médicos dijeron que el hígado me duraría unos 10 años.

<div>Ahora tengo 20 años, pero hace seis meses el trasplante comenzó a fallar. Mi situación es complicada porque ya no tengo el seguro que tenía en ese momento, y el nuevo trasplante debe hacerse en el hospital general de Querétaro, donde vivimos. No tenemos los medios para realizar los estudios necesarios para el protocolo, que deben hacerse fuera del hospital. La expectativa es que el trasplante se realice en un plazo de 6 a 8 meses, pero si todo va bien, la cirugía será compleja y se requerirán equipos que deben pagarse por separado, además de honorarios médicos para el anestesiólogo.

<div>Los estudios que me piden a veces tienen citas hasta noviembre, por lo que tendríamos que hacerlos de forma privada para no perder tiempo y poder ingresar a la lista de trasplantes. Si todo sale bien, con cuidados, espero que mi nuevo hígado funcione al menos 20 años más.
