<div>Somos Shaisa, Fello, Beira, Sol, Carib, Martí… y todo lo que cuidamos y nos cuida.

<div>Desde hace más de 20 años, trabajamos en las montañas de Puerto Rico sembrando alimento, comunidad y esperanza.

<div>En Puerto Rico, el apoyo gubernamental a los pequeños proyectos agrícolas es muy limitado, aunque el campo es esencial para la alimentación, la cultura y la salud del país. Muchas personas con vocación por la tierra y la agricultura se ven obligadas a endeudarse para poder sembrar.

<div>Nos negamos a aceptar esa realidad como inevitable. Por eso, hoy abrimos la puerta de este proyecto de vida para que puedan conocerlo, y para que quienes se sientan convocadas, y tengan el deseo y la posibilidad, puedan apoyarlo.

<div><strong>Nuestra historia</strong>
</div>
<div>Nuestra historia como proyecto comienza en el 2001 y hemos aportado al impulso de distintas iniciativas colectivas de educación y producción agroecológica siendo algunas de ellas: Cooperativa Orgánica Madre Tierra, Organización Boricuá, Siembra para tod@s, Apoyo Mutuo Campesino, Unitaria Común, UPR-Utuado, entre otras. A través de nuestra trayectoria hemos participado y sembrado en distintos espacios colectivos, alquilados, compartidos, comunitarios… y en todos ellos, lo dimos todo.

<div>Durante los últimos 12 años trabajamos en una finca alquilada que nunca pudo ser nuestra.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Como tantas personas de nuestra generación, tuvimos que aprender a sembrar sin tierra propia. Aprovechamos cada rincón: el patio, un préstamo, una lomita, un solar… donde fuera posible poner una semilla, ahí estábamos.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Una vez, en medio de una temporada difícil, logramos cosechar más de 500 libras de alimento en un espacio de apenas 100 metros cuadrados. Esa experiencia nos enseñó que, aun en lo más pequeño, si se cuida con amor, la tierra responde.
</div>

</div>
<div>Ahora, gracias al acompañamiento del IALA-PR, nos convertimos en custodios de un terreno fértil en el barrio Collores de Jayuya. Tierra bañada por los ríos Jauca y Grande de Jayuya, que lleva décadas en descanso, esperando manos comprometidas que la vuelvan a sembrar.

<div>Queremos trabajar la tierra hoy para que quienes vengan después—nuestras hijas, nuestros hijos, y todas las personas que sueñan con una vida en el campo—tengan caminos menos cuesta arriba.

<div>Conuco Collores es nuestra forma de devolverle a la tierra todo lo que nos ha dado.
</div>
<div>Queremos que sea un espacio fértil, generoso y vivo. Un lugar donde las semillas crezcan, las ideas se compartan, y el alimento llegue a las mesas con sentido y raíz.

<div><strong>¿Para qué necesitamos tu apoyo?</strong>
</div>
<div>Tu aportación nos permitirá habilitar esta finca y comenzar el proyecto de cultivo de manera plena. Vamos a co-construir un espacio de producción plena, continua y diversa de alimento fresco y agroecológico para el beneficio de nuestra comunidad circundante de familias, colmados, supermercados y restaurantes. Estableceremos un espacio educativo en donde muchas personas se puedan capacitar y beneficiar del conocimiento que sabemos podemos transmitir y compartir.

<div><strong>¿Qué hemos hecho hasta ahora?</strong>

<li>Cultivamos miles de libras de alimento sano: hortalizas, medicina, leche, carnes
</li>
<li>Facilitamos talleres sobre siembra, cocina campesina, plantas medicinales y medicina tradicional en comunidades de toda la isla
</li>
<li>Participamos en la creación y docencia del primer bachillerato en agricultura sustentable en Puerto Rico
</li>
<li>Apoyamos la distribución de alimentos durante la pandemia a través de Apoyo Mutuo Campesino
</li>
<li>Elaboramos productos como sodas vivas fermentadas, encurtidos, jarabes, pestos, ungüentos, panes y más
</li>
<li>Organizamos eventos gratuitos con educadores agrícolas internacionales para agricultores locales
</li>
<li>Impulsamos redes de mercados agroalimentarios solidarios

</div>
<div>We are Shaisa, Fello, Beira, Sol, Carib, Martí… and all the fauna and flora that we care for and that cares for us.

<div>For more than 20 years, we have worked in the mountains of Puerto Rico, sowing food, community, and hope.

<div>We are a family farm with an educational vocation, committed to the land, to the people who work it, and to the right of all to eat well and live with dignity.

<div>In Puerto Rico, government support for small agricultural projects is very limited, even though the countryside is essential to the country's food, culture, and health. Many people with a vocation for the land and agriculture are forced to go into debt in order to plant.
</div>
<div>We refuse to accept this reality as inevitable. Therefore, today we open the door to this life project so that you can learn about it, and so that those who feel called, and have the desire and the opportunity, can support it.

<div><strong>Our History</strong>
</div>
<div>Our history as a project begins in 2001, and we have contributed to the development of various collective initiatives in agroecological education and production, including: Madre Tierra Organic Cooperative, Boricuá Organization, Sowing for All, Peasant Mutual Support, Unitaria Común, and UPR-Utuado, among others. We began this journey in 2001, participating and sowing in various spaces: collective, rented, shared, community... and in all of them, we gave our all.

<div>For the past 12 years, we've worked on a rented farm that was never meant to be ours.
</div>
<div>Like so many people of our generation, we had to learn to plant without our own land. We took advantage of every corner: the yard, a loan, a small hill, a plot of land... wherever we could plant a seed, we were there.
</div>
<div>Once, in the midst of a difficult season, we managed to harvest more than 500 pounds of food in a space barely 100 square meters. That experience taught us that, even in the smallest of ways, if cared for with love, the earth responds.
</div>
<div>Now, thanks to the support of IALA-PR, we become custodians of a fertile plot of land in the Collores neighborhood of Jayuya. Land washed by the Jauca and Grande de Jayuya rivers, which has lain dormant for decades, waiting for dedicated hands to replant it.
</div>
<div>We call this new home: <strong>Conuco Collores.</strong>

<div><strong>Here we sow the future</strong>
</div>
<div>We want to work the land today so that those who come after us—our daughters, our sons, and all those who dream of a life in the countryside—have easier paths.

<div>Conuco Collores is our way of giving back to the land for all it has given us.
</div>
<div>We want it to be a fertile, generous, and living space. A place where seeds grow, ideas are shared, and food reaches our tables with meaning and roots.

<div><strong>Why do we need your support?</strong>
</div>
<div>Your contribution will allow us to open this farm and begin the full cultivation project. We will co-construct a space for the full, continuous, and diverse production of fresh, agroecological food for the benefit of our surrounding community of families, grocery stores, supermarkets, and restaurants. We will establish an educational space where many people can receive training and benefit from the knowledge we know we can transmit and share.
