As you may have heard from the update our company President, Chris Long, sent, our AxisPoint Health colleagues in Puerto Rico are still dealing with unimaginable challenges in their everyday lives. While the office is now open, much of the country is still without clean drinking water, power and consistent communications. Access to fuel is still somewhat limited. Houses and vehicles have been damaged or destroyed. All have lost something and some have lost, literally, everything.
Many of our mainland US employees have asked how you can best help. We know that now grocery, hardware and other stores are open. Costco and Sam's Club are open. So while there is access to goods, that doesn't mean all that is desparately needed, can be afforded. We have confirmed that at this time, Visa gift cards would be the best, safest, most rapid way to provide relief to our colleagues.
Your support will aid our colleagues in covering the essentials; be it food, baby formula, clothing, building materials, and so on, in the hopes that they can get back to some semblance of a normal daily life. I am also thrilled to share that our company, AxisPoint Health, will match donations up to $20,000. Between our goal amount of $13,500 and the company match, we will be able to provide each of our Puerto Rico team members $500 in Visa prepaid debit cards/gift cards and still cover the fundraising account fees and cost of the prepaid cards. Of course, if we raise funds beyond our goal, they will be distributed evenly among our Puerto Rico work family.
The need is so immediate, that we only have a short time to make this happen. This campaign will be open until Saturday, October 21st.
