Apex's Lifesaving Medical Fund

On September 27th, 2017 our lives were turned upside down.
Apex, our 10 month old German Shorthaired Pointer became deathly ill.
He has been in and out of vet’s offices and emergency clinics with no doctor able to pinpoint his medical mystery.
He had to have a blood transfusion because his PCV levels dropped to a critical 11%. A normal, healthy dog will have anywhere between 35-55%. Once a dog reaches below 12%, a blood transfusion is needed to sustain life.
He is not able to eat and is very lethargic at this time. He has already lost some weight.
He is currently at AVS getting specialized testing because his body can not sustain itself.
Doctors are working hard around the clock conducting biopsies, xrays, ultrasounds, blood transfusions, IV treatments , blood tests, and vital checks making sure Apex lives to see another day.
He has not been diagnosed with anything just yet, but they are suspicious that he has Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia, where his immune sytem attacks his own red blood cells leading to an insufficient number of oxygen carrying cells, and is in need of diligent monitoring of blood levels and steroids.
Because he has already undergone one blood transfusion, he may be in need of more with 24/7 care.
In just a matter of days his medical expenses have cost us thousands, and there is no end in sight. We would like the doctors to continue with their testing so that we can have answers as to what is happening to our sweet baby boy. Unfortunately, with extensive testing comes extensive expenses. We need your help!
This is something that cannot be figured out over night, and will require life-long care to manage and control.
We want him to continue to live a happy, loving, and adventurous life.
With your help we can make this happen. With your help we can continue his care and findout answers. With your help we can make sure he is getting the best care possible.
We will bring Apex home, but we can only do this with your help.
