Trudy's Fight

Mel and I have been racking our brains for weeks trying to find a way we can show support and raise some money for Mom and Dad while Mom continues to fight for her health.
For those of you that are not up to date on Trudy's health I will try to fill in some of the blanks. Mom has successfully finished her chemo treatments and the Doctors are happy with the results. The next step is an extended hospital stay (3-6 weeks). During this time Mom will have surgery where she will recieve a "hickman". This is a port to the bloodsteam. Once that is in she will have an extremely high dose of chemo that will kill everything, including her immune system and that will put her into isolation. The next day her healthy stem cells, that she had removed 11 years ago and had frozen, will be re-inserted. From there we hope and pray for her cells to start producing their own healthy ones. Over time we want her counts to improve and eventually have Mom taken out of isolation.
This is a huge undertaking to say the least.
I would like to raise money so Mom and Dad have one less thing to worry about and can focus on Mom getting stronger. Since Dad insists on staying by Mom's side he will have some costs to cover. Parking, meals, and also driving back and forth to Rosthern where he can shower and continue to maintain their home. Dad also does odd jobs to help supplement his penson and will be unable to do so as he is Mom's primary caregiver.
Mom has remained so poistive through her ongoing battle that I want to show her all the support possible.
