We have just about 102,000 Members Internationally. We are the oldest, active, single parent support group online, and we have been around for 22 yrs. Our main objective is to offer a place where all single parents can come to, to relax, have fun, ask advice, vent, make friends, but most of all to be able to have a place where all can come to not feel alone and connect to other single parents with support that we so long for.
In the years of being the founder of this group, I have seen many single parents with financial struggles. These struggles could be for many reasons like, homeless, medical issues, loss of job, or just having problems paying bills and feeding their children.
We read many posts from members about their struggles, and all we have done before was just to be there to try to help them with our words of support and advice. Some feel helpless by reading these posts and wanting to help. Kind of like "Pay it Forward".
Many have asked us in the years, how can they help other members financially? How can they give something back? Many single parents in the group have been thru the same before as others are going now. They want to help but don’t know how. Christmas time many want to give back by helping single parents who can’t afford Christmas for their children. Yet they don’t want to pry or make those in need feel like we feel sorry for them.
So me and the group administrators want to set up this fund to do just that. To help those single parents along the way, who might need a little helping hand. To give back so to speak.
You all know what it is like, you have been there. Days where u don’t have enough money to pay the bills, to put food in your kids’ mouth, to buy the things they need for school, to even just Christmas presents. Some of u have been homeless, jobless; have felt the world is crashing down on you. You have been there. I have been there. What better way to give back then to help those who are there now.
So we have set up a Single Parents International Fund. We will only use this fund to either help Single Parents. What we want to try to do is to get enough money in this fund to where we can start by helping at least one family a month.
I have been the founder for 22 yrs. I have gave my life to this group. I want to do more than just keep the group going. I want to help others more. But i can’t do this alone. I need your help too. We are not asking for much. I mean if u can only donate $5 then that is a start. Think if 104,000+ donated $5 only how much help we can do for alot. On this site they even have the option to donate monthly. It don’t matter. Whatever u can do.
As we go along with each family we help we will post about it, as long as they don’t mind. We want to show the world that we single parents can come together and be there for each other in times of need. I believe we can do good. But it has to start somewhere. Won’t you help us and be a part of something that at the end of the day u know u helped a child in need. Cause that is what this is all about, our children. Please Help !!!
