On June 17, 2014, we lost our dear friend Barry Moss. He had a difficult last few months, and there by his side every step of the way for the past 17 years was his longtime partner Bob Kale.
We can't imagine a better way to pay tribute to Barry than extending a helping hand to Bob. Though they lived together for 14 years, Bob wasn't added to the lease until it was too late and is being evicted and must vacate his apartment by July 25. Can you imagine losing your life partner, your home and potentially your business in one fell swoop? The unimaginable has happened to Bob Kale. Bob is devastated and doing his best to make some decisions about next steps, where he will live and so much more. It is understandably overwhelming.
In the meantime, I am asking Barry and Bob's friends to help out.
There are hundreds, perhaps thousands whose lives and careers have been touched and in some cases, forever changed by Barry Moss. Please join us in paying tribute to this gentle, wise and wonderful man by helping the man he spent the last 17 years of his life with and who cared for Barry with love and compassion as he went in and out of hospitals and physical rehabilitation facilities consistently during the last year and a half of his life.
On one of his last trips to the hospital, Barry called us from the cab. Facing his mortality, he pleaded to us, crying: "I'm worried about Bob. Please help me make sure he is taken care of."
Whatever you can give, please do. Money raised will help his find a new place to live and pay rent for a few months while he gets back on his feet again. If that's $50, $100 or even $500 or even more, thank you. We all have been touched by Barry and Bob in various ways, and this is a chance to give back and say thank you.
