Michael's Cancer Journey

Michael W Tasca was born and raised in Rehoboth Massachusetts in 1955. He relocated to Bar Harbor Maine around 1985 where he lived for almost 30 years with his best friend Thomas Casey.  He now lives in Somerset, MA. In 2014, Thomas passed away suddenly of an aneurysm, leaving a deep void of devastation for so many people especially my friend Michael. One year later...2015 Michael was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer and a very aggressive one at that. Michael is the kind of person wherever he goes, whether it is work or simply in a store, he will make a friend and make someone smile. He will give you his last dime if you need it. This is how he's always has been; giving, compassionate, sensitive, kind, crazy, and funny to all those that know and love him. For two years he has been undergoing cancer treatment at Dana-Farber as well as Hudner oncology in Massachusetts. He has an extremely positive attitude and will fight this and win. We are looking to help him financially as he is currently out of work due to needing some very delicate spinal surgery. The cancer metastasized to the bone causing the base of the spine to breakdown creating a tremendous amount of pain which will hopefully be corrected during this surgery. It will take place in Boston soon. In the meantime, he has a growing amount of financial burden which is weighing on his mind when that is the last thing he should be thinking of. No one should have to worry about that when dealing with cancer. Everything from the rent to keeping a roof over his head, which he is so far behind on, day-to-day living expenses, maintenance and repair on vehicle to get back and forth for cancer treatments, alternative medicine routes that insurance will not cover, health insurance, car insurance, etc. His sister is looking into assistance as well for him but everything takes so long. It's exhausting and overwhelming while dealing with his health. We want to relieve the stress from him. If he had $1,000,000 in his pocket he would give it to any person or animal in need because that's the kind of person he is and has always been. He has lots of neices and nephews that he cherishes and wants to live a long time to get to watch them grow up. When you donate, there's a section to leave a tip. That goes to GoFundMe. If you don't want to leave a tip choose "other" and put 0 in the amount area.
