Vincent's Journey to Recovery

Vincent Norton is 33 and is an amazing father of two little girls, Margaret and MacKenzie. He is also a dedicated husband to Angel. The two of them, with their daughters are full of life, love and family.
However, life has drastically changed. Vincent has been battling Acute Myloid Lymphoma (AML) and fighting other complications since Good Friday (April 18th). He has been in the hospital since April 20th and has not yet left (written June 24th).
Here is his story:
While coaching his daughter Margaret's softball team, he started feeling exhausted when walking onto the field. His next sign was passing out at work. So, on Good Friday (April 18th) he went into urgent care and after numerous tests they found out that he was severely anemic and needed a blood transfusion. The next day an oncologist informed them that it may be leukemia and ordered a bone marrow biopsy. On Easter the diagnosis of AML was given and just a few days later Vincent started his battle with 7 days of chemotherapy. The cheomotherapy caused Vincent to develope pneumonia. As a result, he was moved to the Critacal Care Unit (CCU) and his life was touch and go for several days. None of the medical staff thought he would make it. While in the CCU he also suffered what was thought to be a stroke, but now they realize he has an abcess in his brain, lungs and spleen. Also, the doctors discovered an abnormality on his heart that is yet to be diagnosed. Through all this, Angel stayed by his side willing him to fight, to live. His will is so strong, and the prayers so many, Vincent beat the odds and is recovering. He still has a long road ahead of him, another round of chemotherapy......but he is alive and he is fighting.
From Angel:
"The battle still continues but he is a fighter and has strived to walk out of the hospital and regain his full speech. Not only is he brave, strong, and determined he is the love of my life. There is still an uphill battle but I know that he will overcome this battle, there have been so many obsticles he has overcome....he is a survivor"
As you can imagine, the finanacial burden has been immense. With Vincent unable to work and Angel unable to work to be by his side it, has been difficult. Now, with FMLA coming to an end, they need our help more than ever. Angel needs to stay by his side, take care of her daughters and manage the household.
