For those who know me, they know how hard it is for me to be asking for help right now. But here I am, asking for help.
William has several medical problems. He has Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Autonomic Dysfunction, Autonomic Neuropathy, chronic and severe constipation, migraines and a restricted airway. Despite all of this, he is still a very sweet and loving 4 year old boy who loves cars, trucks, trains, and long snuggles!
We have been paying for a large bulk of Williams medical expenses out of pocket lately, and it is taking its toll on us financially. We now go to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee for his treatment and hospital stays, and that in itself is getting very expensive.
But the biggest reason I decided it was time to ask for help is because Williams doctor recently told us that he wanted him to have genome sequencing done. He believes William's problems all stem from a genetic condition. He also believes Will might be one of the only, if not the only, person in the world with this exact gene malformation that would cause his condition. It is important for us to have this done so we know how to best help Will and so we have an idea of what to expect in the years to come. One thing we do know, is that Will's condition is getting progressively worse and we are running out of options on how to help him. The test costs $9000.00 and insurance will not cover it. We are looking into several options, one being a discount if we pay in cash, but no matter what we are facing some serious medical expenses when we are already stretched to our limit.
I know everyone has their own burdens and crosses to bear. I understand if you are unable to help financially, I am also asking for prayers because all of this uncertainty has me very scared. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
