AOII Fundraiser for FIJI Isle
Tax deductible
My name is Katie Harp, and I am a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, Kappa Kappa chapter here at Ball State. I was nominated to raise money for our chapter’s cause, Juvenile Arthritis, and represent AOII at Phi Gamma Delta's annual philanthropy event.
You might think that arthritis is something only grandparents get, but it's a condition that affects people of all ages. Did you know that an estimated 300,000 children in the U.S. — that’s 1 in 250 kids — are affected by some form of JA? This disease takes a unique physical and emotional toll on kids, often resulting in debilitating pain and feelings of loneliness or depression. JA can make it especially challenging for kids to say Yes — Yes to playing, Yes to hanging out with friends, Yes to spending time with family, Yes to being a kid!
AOII works to support kids diagnosed with JA, donating stuffed panda bears for children attending Arthritis Foundation camps and conferences. The fraternity's national campaign for arthritis awareness is “AOII Goes Blue,” with local chapters creating individual chapter events like “Strike Out Arthritis!" Dollars donated to the Arthritis Foundation support arthritis research, Juvenile Arthritis Power Packs, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, Conferences, and much more.
On behalf of myself and Alpha Omicron Pi, we appreciate any donations to support this cause. Thank you! ❤️
