Antoine's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
At age 46, Antoine Gilder was a hardworking, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, working, cooking for everyone and pitching horseshoes.  For the past year he has been the sole provider for his family because he wanted his wife to return to school fulltime and fulfill her dream of finally completing nursing school.  Also approaching is his sons 1st year as a Varsity Football Player.  Life was going according to plan until Antoine noticed that he was short of breath at work.  His wife encouraged him to visit the ER where it was found that he had a collapsed lung, a pleural effusion, and even worse a very rare case of aggressive T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, in Stage 3.  The doctor said he was lucky that he came in when he did.  In an effort to fight this aggressive cancer, treatment needed to be initiated immediately.

He received his 1st cycle of Hyper-CVAD, an aggressive chemo regimen in the hospital for 4 days, but many more treatments and tests are to come. Hyper CVAD and other medications will be administered over the next 6 months to 1 year consisting of a minimum of 8 cycles of chemotherapy, each requiring overnight hospital stays for 4-5 days each. Antoine may also need a hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.  This will be a difficult road for the family, however, the prognosis appears to be good and that is the goal for this family.
Due to the toxins, chemicals, and physical demands involved at Antoine’s job, he will be unable to work and provide for his family during this time. The family considered reopening their home for childcare, but was advised that Antoine cannot be in that environment due to his weakened immune system and susceptibility to infection.

The road ahead will be long and rough, therefore, this page has been created to assist the family with their upcoming medical and living expenses so they can continue to provide Antoine with the consistent care that he needs during his many upcoming hospitalizations stays, transportation need, and home care.   Anything that you can do to help support Antoine and his family during this difficult time (prayers and/or donations of any size) will be more than greatly appreciated and accepted as blessings.
