My name is Joaquin (Nate) Contreras. I am currently away from my family in Houston, Texas, and created this Go Fund Me page to honor my late little cousin, Peety, and help my cousin, Drew, and his wife, Brooklyn, during this time of loss. On behalf of Drew and Brooklyn, I would like to thank everyone who was able to contribute to this Go Fund Me account. We are all so grateful for the outpouring of love and support memorialized through this fund. Please know that all funds raised will go to the family to help with funeral costs and hospital bills. Below is an update and a few thoughts we’d like to share with you…
“We will go on. Somehow we will go on. And little Anthony (Peety) will live on in our memories and in our hearts, and with the babies who will receive his many life-saving organs. His death broke us but it will now offer hope to the parents whose prayers for a miracle will be answered. You (and we) prayed that God would heal Peety. But our prayers didn’t go unanswered, they were just directed to another sick baby” - Uncle Joey
Heroes never seek recognition, but our family would like to share that today, May 20th, Peety gave the greatest gift….his heart. A four-year old boy, number 1 on the heart transplant list, was a perfect match and received Peety’s heart. Drew and Brooklyn have tears of joy that another little boy is filled with the strength and love only Peety can provide.
Peety was also a perfect match with another child and they received his liver. There are handful of other children that will also receive the gift of life from our little hero Peety Contreras.
