Please help the Antczak family

We are asking for your help in assisting a family that would never ask for help themselves.

Michelle Antczak is a strong, selfless, generous wife and mother who was paralyzed in an accident 20 years ago. She never let that stop her from raising 3 beautiful daughters, and taking care of her hardworking husband, Steve. However, over the 2013 holiday season, Michelle was hospitalized 3 times with complications from her paralysis. During that time, Michelle's father, Robert "Bucky" Robinson, suffered a stroke. He has alternated between the ICU and a rehabilitation center in Binghamton ever since. It will be a lengthy road for Bucky, as it seems every time he begins to improve, he is thrown another curve ball. As if this family hadn't been through enough, on Wednesday, January 22nd, Michelle's middle daughter, Stephanie, fell 20 feet from the top of an escalator in the Syracuse mall and has been in the ICU ever since. She suffered numerous facial fractures, a broken wrist and a brain bleed in the fall. Doctors are amazed that she survived the fall, but are confident that she is strong and will recover in time.

As you can imagine, it has been an incredibly difficult 2 months for this family. You'd never know just by talking to them just how difficult things are, as they always have a smile on their faces and are only concerned with how their friends and family are doing. But behind the scenes, things are growing increasingly more difficult financially.

Michelle has done medical transcription from home ever since her accident. Her husband, Steve, works 80+ hours per week, working as much overtime as he possibly can. Their day to day mortgage, utility bills and student loans for 3 daughters was a burden in and of itself. But now adding in mounting medical bills, and the cost of travel expenses (Bucky is in Binghamton, Stephanie is in Syracuse, Michelle & Steve are in Gilbertsville) combined with their sudden inability to work consistently has increased this financial strain considerably.

We're asking for help from friends and family because we know that this family would be first in line to help any one of us. They'd give you the clothing off their backs in a heartbeat. They are first to offer a hand or an ear when a situation arises. Despite all that this family has faced, both recently and over the years, it has never stopped them from being selfless, generous, loving, amazing people. They are people that you'd be lucky to have in your corner, and now it's our turn to be in their's.

We are asking for any donation, large or small, to help this family with their increasing financial burden. We know they'd never ask for a handout, so we are asking for one on their behalf. We know times are tough for all of us, but no one deserves to face so much all at once, and if we all chip in, we can really make a difference during this time.

If you'd like to help the family but prefer not to make an online transaction, donations can now be mailed to:
